It’s not likely I’ll get another chance, bubbles up inside of her head, a thought that twists its way into her chest as well.
“Okay,” Firefly says, determined, once she’s collected herself.
“Okay?” Blade echoes, and, though he doesn’t look it, he sounds almost as shocked as Firefly had been receiving the suggestion in the first place.
“Yeah,” she takes a short, shallow breath, “okay.”
