With one last weekend home before the students at U.A. are expected to move into the dormitories, Inko is called away on a spur of the moment trip by Izuku's father, Hisashi Midoriya, a man he... well, barely even knows at this point in time.
He is, however, inevitably reminded once a year that Hisashi Midoriya really /does/ exist whenever he decides to appear on his mother's phone-line like a ghost to ask - more like command - she fly out to New York City to spend some time together, an invitation never once extended to Izuku during the many years he still acknowledged he actually did have a second parent.
And unfortunately after a heated phone call with his parents, resulting in a verbal altercation that crushes Izuku's soul as if he were still that same child in middle school, in walks the hero he always prayed would save him.
Except this time, All Might is there to put his broken pieces back together in the flesh.

The minutes drew by, but neither of them counted a single second. Toshinori was more than fine with just standing here, holding this most precious being in his arms as he hummed contentedly into his hair, swaying them both in his strong, protective hold. He'll relish in every moment that Izuku will stay this young, this small, despite all of the years he’s missed up to this point in time.
He can be damn sure that from here on out, he'll do everything within his power to ensure this beautiful, beautiful kid that just so happened to stumble into his life is safe, happy, and always with a warm meal on the table and a bed that's only his to come home to every single day for as long as he decides to.
Izuku and Toshinori share a tender moment in the kitchen just before taking the next step that'll cement their relationship as father and son forever.
