Summary
The thing about being a supernatural, technically-nearly-immortal creature was that dalliances with humans were rarely a good idea and your hookup pool was somewhat limited. Yeah, sure, some harmless fun didn’t hurt anybody, but even that could be exhausting sometimes - for example when you had to use a glamour to appear fully human. When you just wanted a quick fuck, being focused on keeping your magic in charge was a pain in the ass.
That’s why the Cat King didn’t mind sticking around Esther Finch, and that’s why he would probably show up at her door.****

"It is not perfume," says Edwin, stiffly, and fixes him with a flat sort of a look. "Honestly, Charles. We cannot even smell." Then the corners of Edwin's mouth quirk up, the way they do when he's fighting down a smile. "Usually, at least."
"What," says Charles. "You saying there's some things we can smell?"
"I am saying," says Edwin, and reaches out to take the bottle in one hand, "that under the right circumstances, we can smell everything. Taste everything, as well."
