Summary
Madam Yu decides that the best way to reinstate the severed engagement between her daughter and her best friend’s son would be to publicly punish and humiliate Wei Wuxian in front of the other sects, particularly the Jin. Since he was the one who caused it to be broken, it was the least Wei Wuxian deserved, to remind him of his place. And if it also got back at her husband for allowing the engagement to be broken in the first place, she viewed that as an excellent side benefit.
Unfortunately, she hadn’t considered that other sects might actually snap up the talented disciple that she had planned to only temporarily toss aside. The consequences of that mistake are much farther-reaching than she could have ever imagined.

Summary
The Burial Mounds is a place shrouded in mystery. A place where those who venture in, willingly or no, never return. One thing, however, was clear; danger lurked in every corner, a playground for the resentful dead. Tales of the Burial Mounds were often used to scare small children into obedience. Tales that told of creatures coming to steal one away in the middle of the night, should they misbehave.
Wei Wuxian had firmly decided that none of these tales did the Burial Mounds justice. Inside, thick clouds of resentful energy enveloped everything, robbing him of sight and leaving him reliant only on his remaining senses.He needed to survive.

Wei Ying was watching as his whole world was being destroyed right in front of him by the same people he saved from the Wens . In that moment he decided since they want a monster he would become the biggest one they have ever seen. He will get his revenge. All of them will pay for what they did.
