    Eve Polastri is a morning show TV producer in London. She firmly believes that she'll find the perfect man after her divorce and is a big supporter of self-help books. Coming home from an awful date, she finds herself watching a local television show called The Ugly Truth, featuring Villanelle Astankova, whose cynicism about relationships prompts Eve to call in to argue with her on-air. The next day, she discovers the TV station is about to cancel her show because of its poor ratings and Villanelle Astankova is standing in front of her with a new segment of Eve's show.
