It shocked him—the way the word reward made something inside of him light up. Was it because the idea of receiving one made him intrinsically yearn for it? Or was it because Aventurine was the one offering?
“And what kind of ‘reward’ do you have in mind?” he asked carefully.
“Curious, are you?” Aventurine leaned in, eyes forming little crescents. “I suppose you’ll have to win to find out.”

Summary
Ratio was in his cozy royal blue robe, its silk belt loosely tied around his waist, exposing his well toned chest, rising and falling slowly with his breathing. Aventurine felt his cheeks heat up at the sight. And further up, his gold tinted reading glasses had stooped on the edge of his nose. How cute.
Aventurine placed Storge down and gently removed the Doc’s glasses, quietly letting them on the coffee table. He turned and… There it was. Ratio’s enchanting visage, free from any care in the world, in deep sleep.
And that’s when it struck him, as if an apple hit Aventurine’s head in realisation.
He had never seen Ratio sleeping before.
Or in which Aventurine and Ratio work through showing vulnerability at the start of their domestic life.

“Aventurine? What brings you to call me at this hour?” Her tone was the same as always — smug, confident, and a little condescending. “A lady needs her beauty sleep, you know.”
“Don’t worry, I wouldn’t dream of keeping you held up for long.” He toweled off his face, taking with it excess product from his skin routine. “I was just wondering if you could send me the doctor’s contact info. He ghosted me at the eleventh hour!”
Jade was silent on the other line for a few moments. “You’ll have to be a bit more specific. Which doctor are you talking about?”
Aventurine paused. “Uh… who else? You know, Ratio?”
“Who is ‘Ratio’ supposed to be, exactly?”
The toothbrush clattered as it fell into the sink, slipping entirely from Aventurine’s grasp.
That was when he knew something was wrong.
