Summary
At 25, Wakatoshi Ushijima has his life in order. He does what he loves for a living. When he isn't playing volleyball, he lives the normal adult life. Off-court obligations, outings with friends, having a girlfriend. The things people are supposed to do to live through the hours that aren't volleyball and he accepts it as a given. He doesn't even get worked up when his girlfriend breaks up with him.
But it's one phone call an old friend didn't make that had the power to upset him.
Dropping everything for the day, volleyball included, to meet Satori Tendou before he leaves Japan again, some hidden gears inside of him are finally set in motion. Maybe too slowly since time is not on his side.

"“They,” Tobio declares crazily, “are the same person. And I will prove it!”
“Why don’t you just ask him?” Suga suggests - he knows what he’s doing, the devil, because Tobio can’t say ‘of course he wouldn’t tell the truth’ - and calls to the other two first years. “Mind if I ask something, Hinata?”
“Sure, Suga-san!” Hinata chirps, trusting as always.
The group watches in skeptical (most of them, but especially Tsukishima) curiosity as Suga flashes a disarming smile. “Are you Spider-Man?”
Laughing, Hinata dashes to receive one of Yamaguchi’s serves, only narrowly missing. He flies head over heels to land with a grunt on his face, and Tobio can practically feel everyone watching him skeptically.
“He never gave an answer.” Tobio grumbles, and the others groan."

Kenma blinked, then shook his head in disbelief, before pulling his blankets up to cover them both. Kuroo’s grin had faded now to a smaller, softer kind. He drew the blankets in closer and his arms in tighter until Kenma could hear the gentle lull of his heartbeat.
Kuroo had kissed his forehead then, Kenma remembered. Then, just as quickly as that had come and gone, Kuroo had been asleep.
