Summary
Every time Asriel heard a sound in the hall outside, his tail stood on end. His eyes fixated on the strip of light under the door, watching the shadows pass back and forth while his parents spoke in hushed tones. Asriel couldn’t quite make out what they were saying, but it didn’t matter. He was just glad to hear his mother’s voice; as long as she was awake, he didn’t have to worry about anything.
