Summary
It was just a semi normal job on a normal summer night, Reigen had thought it would had been a quick in and out so him and mob could go out to eat afterwards. Instead he finds himself separated from Mob during their exorcism and in a strange place. It looks exactly like seasoning city, but completely deserted and dilapidated with wildlife taking over. Reigen tries to find a way to get back to a seasoning city he knows and loves while experiences the horrors of this strange one.

Dimple groans and floats by his shoulder. "No. Ghosts can't feel sexual desire… sort of."
Reigen raises a brow. "Sort of?"
"Well, it all depends on the circumstance." He explains. "You see, when a ghost or spirit first manifests, it's totally possible for them to still feel it as remnants of their past life, but over time that fades, and sometimes when they act on those desires, they find that it's not as fulfilling as they once thought and it completely negates those feelings entirely."
"Oh. So, do you think that could be what's going on with this spirit?"
"No." Dimple's eyes shift to Reigen suspiciously. "Do you?"
Reigen shrugged and looked up to the magnificent torii gate they were coming up to. "Don't know, too early to tell."
"Uh-huh, sure, you freak."
Reigen takes on a job involving a... wait. What the hell is that thing?

“Reigen, are you kidding me? Can’t you keep it in your pants for one minute! This is serious.” Ritsu, outraged, undoubtedly trying to murder Reigen with his eyes. It makes Sato laugh, delighted, and in front of him, Takashi positively grins.
“Sounds like this ain’t the first time, is it, Reigen? You got a thing for stuff like this? You wanna be held down? We can do that for you.”

Better Him is just incredible all the way through. The beginning is absolutely brutal, it completely alters the state of several characters forever. The buildup to the point was so intense, and so just...in character for everyone involved? Throughout the entire fic every decision Reigen made makes complete sense for his character going through what he goes through.
I adore this fic, and often go back to read it! -

I'm just going to be blunt, that phonesex scene was so fucking good it lives rent free in my head.
BESIDES THAT, the horror elements in this were fantastic!! The spirit was simple yet effective. Super interesting idea.

This is the sequel to salt water and it doesn't disappoint! I really thought it was an interesting change to have them switch positions in this. (From reimob to mobrei) it really makes it feel like it doesn't matter how it goes, as long as they are with eachother. And I really think that's lovely. I come back to Salt water and this one alot.

Salt water is genuinely amazing. Its short and sweet but doesn't rush itself. Mob being adamant that he wanted to sleep with Reigen. Reigen hesitating every step of the way...I'm a sucker for this every time I read it. The somber ending is a really nice touch.
