“Oh, Is that someone new?” A curious voice asked as they entered the room, I could feel their gaze scrutinizing my back. Smelling their cologne from a mile away, I could feel them approaching our area slowly but steady, staccato steps with leather shoes.
I then turned around anticlimactically, expecting to see someone I didn’t know.
Then I saw him.
‘Leon. Fucking. Kennedy.’
That was what ran through my mind the moment I saw him again; he was the reason I failed my mission. From all the assignments I've successfully done in the eleven years I was deployed; this was my first failed objective. And he was the very fucking reason I ended up going back to field work, instead of being me being cozy, and safe, doing whatever the hell I needed to do behind the scenes.
My God, I got my work cut out for me.
