This is a re-write of Adora and Glimmer's reunion in the show that puts a little more focus on the conflict that they had in S4. I tried to make it pretty canon-compliant so it doesn't mess with anything else that happens, but ahh who knows. I'm not a writer by trade so I hope you all give this a chance and enjoy it!

The room in Bright Moon is hushed, filled with tiny night noises from the thrown open window that are dampened even further by the plush carpet. It’s a safe room, a familiar one, and in a perfect world, nothing here could ever seem dangerous. Nothing ever should.
Into the press of quiet, murmuring to the stutter beat of her heart, Adora says,
“We can’t keep doing this.”

Summary

Adora is selected to be turned into a vampire, but soon learns the harsh truths about the clan that raised her, and it causes a schism between Adora and her oldest friend. Adora turns to the Pack for help, and Catra has important decisions to make.

Summary
This was supposed to be a simple business trip. Fly to Brightmoon, secure some deals, and then come back. Sounded easy, right?
It would've been, if Catra's travel budget hadn't been the equivalent of loose change stuffed between Hordak's sofa cushions. It wasn't nothing, but it wasn't enough to pay for every travel expense.
She could technically save some money by staying at Adora's place, but...
...Was she really desperate enough to ask her ex-girlfriend for help?

Adora and Glimmer have been living in their own apartment for about a year now. It hasn't exactly been perfect, what with university life constantly bearing down on them, but things were going pretty well so far.
Hopefully nothing would come along and throw that peaceful life out of balance.

They’re in the women’s bathroom. There’s no windows. It’s just the two of them, awkwardly eyeing one another, each panicked for very different reasons.
Mermista looks at him, and then back at the flaming trash can, and then to the fire alarm, which is going to go off any second now, unless he puts it out, and then to the boy, who is desperately trying to smother it with – dry paper towels? – and raises an eyebrow. “Okay,” she drawls, “what does this look like?”
