Summary
It gets worse. It gets better. It gets incredibly boring, and painful, and dull. You wake up every morning with the sun already shining through the fucking thin curtains fucking Stede Bonnet hung from his stupid fucking big window. You curl up and cry and wonder for a moment if it wouldn’t be better to just let it go, if it wouldn’t be better for both of you if you just pretended you forgot to call him in.
But then, it’s the same clouds in the sky each and every morning, same voices coming from out on deck saying the same fucking shit, and you’re so alone in here you feel like you’re going crazy. Crazier. Just you and the Kraken, the monster that’s never been more of a monster than you are, Edward Teach.
You need him.

Summary
She had been through this a million times already. Different town, different school, same old Stede. Second days were the worst: she was already late for class, and she'd made a mess at breakfast, and she was definitely lost. But at least she got to meet Eddie Teach, resident bad girl and a real sweetheart deep down.
Such a shame that Izzy Hands was never that far behind, of course. But, well: she'd make do. Chin up, like mum used to say.Or: Meet Stede Bonnet, new girl at Queen Anne's High, a bit of a clotheshorse, and fairly proficient at both getting lost and falling in love, it seems.

Summary
He’s thought about it hundreds of times, he’s imagined so many different versions he can’t tell one from another. And yet, the one thing they have in common is this: their getting on the Revenge, finding the rest of the crew working swiftly, maybe following a song Frenchie’s playing. The reunion, everyone freezing and staring and not knowing what to do, what to say. And Ed, his Ed, bleary-eyed and tough and yet melting with every word that comes out of Stede’s mouth, stepping towards him slowly, inch by inch, until they’re so close they could – they do – kiss.
What he finds on the Revenge has little to do with the hundreds of scenarios he’d been running in his head. Even the more implausible ones.
For one, Ed isn’t even there.(Or, the Big Damn Reunion doesn't exactly go as expected. )
Non-canon compliant for basically all of Season 2.

Summary
It was like a dream, back then. A nightmare, everything twisted in that way the world twists in dreams, Blackbeard a shadow, a promise, always out of reach. And a creature in his place, a thing that wore his face and had his eyes and looked at Izzy with such hate, such contempt at times. This is what you wanted. This is what you made me, Iz.
A toe couldn’t cut it. A pound of flesh would have never been enough.
But they're back on the Revenge, back to normal, and they're trying to adjust and maybe - if they close their eyes and make an effort - that will be enough.
(Or: The Kraken crew have been rescued, Stede Bonnet has his ship back. "Normal" has never seemed farther from them.)

Summary
Last time Jack had seen Izzy Hands, the man had been rowing away, a scowl on his face and the sun barely rising at his back. And now here he was, rail thin and pale, stuffed in a Navy uniform like the twats outside. Hands held himself carefully, like he was hurting: it made Jack’s stomach twist, and once he sat down he reached for the rum bottle almost immediately.
From his chair, Hornigold chuckled.(Or: Jack goes to Hornigold to sell out Blackbeard: his reward is a little different from what he expected.)

Summary
Ed is still trying to call him. He knows because he can hear the phone buzzing in the drawer he shoved it into when he got here. It’s either Ed or one of the boys calling for Ed. It’s all the same, anyway. No one’s calling for Izzy Hands, so the blasted thing may as well stay where it is—and it does. It stays there until the battery dies and it turns into a useless ornament, a reminder of something he should have left behind far sooner. It stays there for weeks, in fact, while he goes out to get a new phone and a new number and does his very best not to think and wonder about how many missed calls and messages are waiting in the past.
Or:
After twenty years with Ed, Izzy finally leaves to save them both, but of course, they're them. Nothing's ever truly over.
A story about breaking up and making up and the wonders of therapy.

Summary
'“Izzy, you’re being a downer. You need a hit of horn.” Ed’s tone falls dangerously flat, as if it’s a statement, not a question.
“No thank you, Edward. I’m just tired.” Izzy trembles. “Not as young as I used to be…”
Ed swipes his finger through a line of rhino dust and saunters back to Izzy. “All the more reason to have a hit.” He circles Izzy languidly, finger held out in mock invitation. “It’ll perk you back up in a jiffy.”
He stops circling in front of Izzy, eyes blown wide and dark. “Open your mouth, dog.” It’s not a suggestion.'
Raid 89 by NonTimereTenebrous
'Somebody chose to cover Frenchie’s eyes instead of his ears, and ever since he’s wondered: is seeing a thing worse than hearing it?'
---
Or, Frenchie eavesdrops outside of the Captain's cabin, and ends up adding another image to the box at the back of his mind.

Summary
Izzy Hands is not having a very good day. This is an understatement, and also a shame, as it will be the last one he ever has.

Summary
“Why do you care what happens to Izzy?” you asked Frenchie. “If he lives, he lives, and if he dies then that's one less problem we gotta deal with."
"I can fucking hear you, you know," said Izzy, weakly and through heavily lidded eyes. He was fighting with everything he had to stay conscious.
"Yeah, well, why sugarcoat it? Me and Frenchie got plenty of reasons to want you dead," you said, not caring about the consequences of the words or the way Frenchie flinched.
