“So let me get this straight, Katsuo.” Asumi pinched the bridge of her nose and a dark curl fell down her face as she did so. “My dad is in love with your dad.”
“Yup.” Her companion said, the boy with matching dark curls leaned back into his seat, taking a hefty bite of his muffin.
“And your dad is in love with my dad.”
“Unfortunately.”
“But my dad let himself be put into an arranged marriage and instead of putting his foot down against my grandparents, he was a coward and broke your dad’s heart.” She tapped a long manicured finger against the rim of her coffee cup.
“That’s how the story goes.”
Years after having his heart broken and running away to Argentina, Atsumu returns to Japan with his sixteen year old son, Katsuo. Despite building a new life abroad, Atsumu is forced to confront the past he thought he’d left behind—especially when he unexpectedly runs into Sakusa Kiyoomi, the man who shattered his heart, and his own daughter - Asumi.
