Summary
It has been two and a half years since Camlann and Arthur, although he knows of Merlin's magic, still has not lifted the ban on it. In frustration Merlin persuades him to visit an ally of Camelot's, the kingdom of Denaan, which not only accepts magic but embraces it, in the hope that Arthur will see that magic can be used for good.
But events do not always turn the way one might hope, motivations are not always so clear, the past cannot be ignored and fate has always been a very strange thing...

“Do you want to teach this winter?” he asked.
“What do you mean?” Jaskier asked, his brow pinched.
“You could come with me to Kaer Morhen instead. If you like.” Geralt poked at the fire with a stick.
“Geralt, you want me to spend the winter tucked away in the mountains in a secret castle with only your family and you for company?” Jaskier teased, knocking his knee against the witcher's.
“You could also fuck off to Oxenfurt if you like,” Geralt growled.
Jaskier laughed, his head thrown back. “Sure you won’t get sick of me?”
“I might, but I’ll be over it by dinner,” Geralt said truthfully.
“They have a spare room for me? I won’t be a problem?” Jaskier asked seriously.
Geralt took a moment, looking into the fire before he spoke.
“I have room in my bed if you like.”
Jaskier stilled beside him.
“I like,” he whispered.
