Summary
A heartbroken Remus Lupin left London in the summer of 1981 and never looked back. A decade later, he's built a life for himself in Burlington, Vermont, surrounded by new friends and finally confident in his job as a counselor. It's a job he loves, even if it does involve regularly conjuring his patronus, and even if that patronus is still taking the shape of a certain canine. He's fine with it. It doesn't have to mean anything.
Until one day his path crosses with Sirius Black's and maybe it does mean something, after all.

AU - The first wizarding war ended with the Longbottoms' deaths rather than the Potters' aka James and Lily are alive and Sirius stayed out of Azkaban. Title is a reference to Adele's 'Water Under the Bridge' because these two are exactly that dramatic.

Summary
Six months after his apparent death in the Department of Mysteries, Sirius Black falls back through the veil and finds himself alone with no knowledge of what happened in the fight.
But he remembers Harry's face contorted in fury and Remus' eyes flooding with pain. He shifts into Padfoot and runs, set on finding them and making things right.

Summary
By the time he reaches his fifth year at Hogwarts, Remus has started to realize that Sirius isn't very affectionate with him.
To make matters worse, Sirius is affectionate with all of his other close friends, especially James, causing Remus to feel a strange sense of jealousy.
When Remus confronts Sirius about his lack of affection, Sirius's response is rather...unexpected.

Summary
For the past months, it had seemed inconceivable to Remus that he would ever talk to Sirius again. Now, as he stares at Sirius’ closed eyes and the dried blood on his shirt, something much more inconceivable comes to mind: that he would never talk to Sirius again.
It's not that Remus hasn't forgiven Sirius yet, he just hasn't accepted that he has forgiven Sirius yet.
He just needs a little more time.However, a gruesome Quidditch accident makes it evidently clear that you should never just assume more time will be given.
