Summary
Ragnar is no longer alone. He’s started walking more slowly now that he actually is aware of where he is going. He can’t stop and he can’t go anywhere else but he can slow down, so that’s what he does. He takes his time because he doesn’t know how long this, whatever it is, is going to last. He doesn’t know what’s coming next, and it might be worse, it will certainly be much worse if he’s being honnest, though he longs for nothing but darkness.
(That’s not true. He longs for something else. But there’s no point in longing for something he can’t have.)
He breathes the marine air and listens to the wind in the trees, taste the rain that has started falling on his tongue and enjoys the damps grass under his bare feet. And in the middle of enjoying all this as much as a dead man can enjoy anything while trying not to go where his feet are taking him, a voice carries out to him. There’s somebody else here. Somebody’s singing. -

Summary
Ragnar looks up suddenly, the blue of his eyes finding Athelstan’s face, and what he sees there must not suit him because he takes the few remaining steps separating them, frames his friend’s head with his hands, and whispers :
« No, shhhh, shhhh, do not worry! Do not worry, my friend, it is alright! »
« How? » Athelstan stammers, short on breath, on word, on everything at this moment. « How is any of that alright? »
And Ragnar smiles at him, the kind of smile that’s rarely seen on the king’s face these days. He smiles like a man shall smile at something that’s causing him both pain and happiness at the same time, and he takes one of Athelstan’s hands with his own, and presses the palm against his own chest. Athelstan can feel Ragnar’s heartbeat under the linen. Strong and steady. Always. -

Murderbot and Perihelion, agender, asexual, aromantic, and human. Not that it stops them from having feelings about each other, capitalism, the homeless pandemic, and existence in general.
Friends from school, they find each other again 10 years later and build the life together that they should have had from the start. Meals are cooked, pets are adopted, and family is found.
This has grown into a monster with no hint of stopping. At this point I'm just having a great time typing my life away.

Summary

Still, history has shown that to ensure truly committed and happy service, even the most pious saint needs to able to let their hair down and paint the town gold every once in awhile.
This is why, is if a saint is lucky, and their name is drawn out of the urn – on the Night of the Profane, they are called to worship.

Summary
It’s not the kind of building that has a bouncer. There isn’t a line out the front, there isn’t music pounding out into the street. There are just blacked out windows and the word Kattegat in silver block letters on the side of the building, and a short man with dark hair and a suspicious squint standing at the door checking the ID of anyone who enters. It could just be a business building, in the wrong district of the city. It could be, but it isn’t.
