Summary
It truly started when Link first drew the Four Sword on his second journey, though it would be a long time before any part of him realized that fact. Whatever spell Vaati had used on him had hit in the same moment as he drew it, the spell and the elements dividing his soul at the same time -- the sword into four elements, the spell into light and dark.
When Link woke, there had been four of him on the floor, and a deep ache in his soul that he knew no remedy for. Going through that journey taught him that these others were all him, and all shared that ache, even as they hoped the journey's end would bring a healing.
It did not.
They did alright, for four people shoved into a single brain. They eventually relearned how to be one person, to walk and talk and forge again as though they were one mind, but their head was so crowded that when their third journey also split them, it was a massive relief to be alone in their heads once more.
That relief wouldn't last long.Series

Summary
In which every Link in the Chain somewhere has brought to the Hero side -- and into LU -- someone who was canonically never intended to be there.
- Wild and Flora were born to the Yiga but accidentally killed their god.
- Twilight lives in the Twili Realm and shifts easily in BotW. His Queen Regnant isn't about to send her King Consort through a portal alone again.
- Time is a brother to his Dark Link and to Majora.
- Warriors is part Gerudo and Sage of Spirit.
- Wind frees Phantom Ganon's soul from Demise's Hatred. Or rather, Aryll does.
- Hyrule is much the way he is in HFMH -- but that's not just Link they're traveling with.
- Legend lives with Marin and Tarin in Termina -- or rather, one of the Heroes of Legend does.
- Sky dual wields the Hyrulean and Lorulean Master Swords.
- Marin and Tarin are from an era between Sky and Four. May include TotK spoilers?
- Dash (Ancient Stone Tablets) is Hailey from Four's era, while Bolt (AST) is a Kokiri from Wild's era.
- Shadow and Vaati are adopted brothers with Ezlo as their dad.
- Four and Shadow are twins, with their mother Acia being from Lorule.- Words:

Summary
What changes for the Chain when there's one, small twist to the LU canon?
Most of this mess will be oneshots and twoshots, with HFMH as the main fic. As a result, if a fact applies in one part of this series, it applies in all of them. So Legend has hidden wings in HFMH, and Hyrule can see inside shadows in Execution Pink, and so on; it's just not necessarily brought to the forefront.
As a result of the oneshots and such being interwoven into the main story, please check the notes at the top and bottom of each chapter. I will attempt to keep y'all updated on where each piece of the story goes so that even if the fic order is a mess, you'll have the events straight in your head.- Words:

Summary
Sometimes Twilight needs a night off. He loves being a big brother, but being a person, being Link, is nice too. Especially after the others have been especially chaotic. Sometimes, he just wants to be the wild one, and unfortunately for Ashei, he takes his chances when he can. Does that mean petting every cat he sees/hears? Yes. Does that result in finding a bloody trail through the alleys and seeking out a certain bug princess at 2 am? Also yes. But hey! They both know they'd do anything for their team-mates.

A Knight Out: finished.
Twilight takes a night to hang out with his Resistance buddies. heading home, his ears catch in a "cat" in an alley and obviously he goes to pet it. no cat -- but he and Ashei find a lot of fresh blood, and investigate. eventually they find bunny Legend hiding in some debris. they take him to Agitha as the closest to a veterinarian. Then Twi gets him back to Sky at the inn, and tired Vet is cuddly Vet. -

oneshot (c.2 is art). kidnappers attempt to take Legend, using a paralytic dosed for a much bigger person. took three days for him to be able to move again, and after five still couldn't walk (motion yes, strength no). the rest of the Chain takes shifts staying with him, a comfort while he can't do anything. -

The Consequences of Being A Hero's Doppelganger: finished.
oneshot. a bounty hunter mistakes Ravio for Legend, and hauls "Link" back to Lynna City for a rematch against Buri Bonebreaker, the giant he bested at the start of OoA. The Chain intervenes -- Legend switching the fight, Ralph stealing the prize (Ravio) during the fight, and the Chain patching up Legend after he wins again. -

It's been a long nights travel and none of the heroes can fathom what has Legend up at the break of dawn, nor why he's so intent on slipping away at such an ungodly hour. For Ravio's sake though, Warriors follows, and unexpectedly witnesses a long overdue visit by the vet to an old family friend.

Legend goes to visit the graveyard, talking to Captain Bertram, just catching up some with his uncle's old friend for an hour. recorrupted post-aLttP by Hilda, he and the other knights in Hyrule weren't freed by a Triforce wish since that went to saving Lorule. Fable executed the corrupted knights since to her knowledge they couldn't be saved. -

The different methods of separating them don't fully work -- until Four stumbles across companions as a solid method of counting.
