Nicole is a nine-year-old girl when this story begins. Late XVIII century London is a difficult place to grow up in... maybe even just survive in.
In an attempt to help her family, Nicole steps on the toes of the wrong people. From then on it will be an escape from the man everyone calls the Shadow and his curse ... Until the escape turns into a hunt; the prey becomes the hunter and the girl becomes a woman.

Summary
With Waverly off traveling the world with Jeremy working for black badge. Nicole is stuck back in purgatory the Bound by the oath she took at the bottom of the steps to Eden. No one ever imagined the two would ever separate. Nicole being the loving caring wife that she is, wanted to give Waverly the right to see the world after spending all her years in the ghost River triangle.
But after a year of Waverly being in the world Wynonna starts to see changes in nicole. Changes that leads her to believe Nicole is slowly dying.With this information and Purgatory's newest addition Wynonna, Nedley and their new friend (s) begin to work quickly to break the oath and let Nicole run to the arms of the one person she loves the most in the world.
