Clark Kent was overjoyed to get a soul mark even though he was not from Earth. Then he met his supposed soulmate and they were nothing like he expected. Bruce Wayne doesn't think his soul mark is anything more than a mistake. He thinks he probably doesn't have a real soulmate, let alone someone he could meet one day.
This causes them many problems and misunderstandings.
