Summary
He nearly bit into his tongue, when Usopp once again pushed him into the ground. “Just because you never looked out for the Merry – I won’t let you just leave her!” the other boy growled. “Stop thinking only of yourself!”
“I’m not-,” Luffy started to reply angrily, hurt by the accusation, but was cut short when Usopp began shaking him.
“You’re so selfish, Luffy!” he shouted, but there was a desperate edge to his voice. “I thought we were friends! I thought you cared-“
“I-!"
“I hate you!”

Summary
“Kyuka Island?” Luffy echoed, his head tilted to the side. “Where’s that?”
“Not too far away. Ace will need to get the bus to get to the port and from there there’s a ferry that goes directly to the island.”
Luffy’s face immediately lit up. “A ferry? How cool is that! Sabo, can we go too?”
Seeing Ace’s wince out of the corner of his eye, Sabo gave the boy an apologetic smile. “Next time, Luffy. It’s Whitebeard’s birthday party, remember, so only Ace can go.”

Summary
“Oh, is that right?” Garp blinked and then broke into a joyful smile that put the brothers on edge. “Meaning the three of you will have all the more time to spend with your grandpa! How about a trip to the zoo?”
Ace winced, even as Luffy cheered. Although he knew that his younger brother loved the zoo, adoring all creatures big and small (and disgusting), he could not imagine a more stressful way to spend his Saturday. It was no secret that the zoo was number one on the list of weekend outings for families - meaning lots of children, prams, stressed parents and above all chaos in which it was easy to lose a certain hyperactive little brother.
Before he could say anything, however, Sabo spoke up. “Alright, but we’re taking Luffy’s friends along.”

(Garp comes for a visit, prompting Ace and Sabo to take Luffy and his friends to the zoo. Chaos ensues.)

Summary
"Your birthday is on May 5th?!"
Luffy stared at him in astonishment, his eyes wide at the forceful tone in Sabo's voice. Ace had turned around as well and was looking at Luffy with a frown on his face.
"But why didn't you tell us that before? That's today!" Sabo yelped.
"Oh, is it?" Luffy said interestedly, as if asking about the weather. "That's cool!"

(It's Children's Day in the Kindgom of Goa, and neither Ace nor Sabo could care less. That is, until they find out an important detail ...)

There were few things Ace truly hated that came with being one of Luffy’s primary caretakers. One of those things that firmly belonged in that category, however, was lying in wait on the kitchen table when he came home late from work one day.

“Luffy not home yet?” he asked, leaning against the doorframe and noting the curious absence of a salivating little boy.
Sabo looked up from where he was expertly cubing onions and the expression on his face immediately let Ace stand up straight. “What’s wrong?"
