“Heya, Ron,” Jodie said. He sounded as nervous as Ron had felt a few moments ago.
“Hi, Jodie. Are those for me?”
Jodie held the handful of daisies towards him. “Yeah. I thought, y’know, that you’d like ‘em.”
“I do,” Ron said as he took the proffered bouquet. He wasn’t sure if daisies had been his favourite flowers before but they definitely were now. Nobody had ever given him flowers before.

When Carol walked in on her husband trying on one of her new dresses, Darryl was convinced it would be the end of their marriage. Instead, once she overcame her initial shock, she threw her bag on the bed while shaking her head, and went to help extricate him from it.
“It's the wrong size for you,” she told him. “If you want something that will actually fasten up I still have a couple of maternity dresses in storage that might fit.”
They didn't, but the dress Carol ordered online for him, which arrived later that week, absolutely did.

Willy walks forward slowly, then leans down to stroke Bill’s hair.
“Good boy,” he breathes.
