    “Hey!” comes Darkwing’s familiar shriek, and Dee and Orion both groan. “D-16, O-12! Get your sorry afts back to work!”

    “It’s Orion!” Orion yells back at him. “Orion Pax!” To Dee’s absolute horror, Orion yanks a wrench out of his storage panel and throws it at Darkwing for good measure. It bounces off Darkwing’s helm with a clank.

    Being a cogless bot comes with a lot of ramifications: automatic miner status, a comically small frame, and the crushing existential dread of knowing you’ll never be anything more than this. But, as things usually go with D-16 and Orion Pax, it doesn’t stop them from making the best of it.
