Cara doesn't need a fully-brokered offering, though. Just laughs—another low growl. The flinch finally reveals itself as a smirk. She lets her thumb sweep over Kahlan's bicep, once and with deliberate dimension, before she breaks contact. The way her eyes sear into Kahlan’s makes her bare hands look boring. "If it had been me, that scar would be the first thing I'd want to hear about."
