“I’ll give you a hint,” Andrew says. He rolls his eyes and turns Neil to face the house again when he tries to look at Andrew for the hint. “I hate him the most in the world.”
Neil stops at the threshold just before they cross it to turn towards Andrew. “Me.”
Andrew is grateful for the old t-shirt he borrowed to cover his chest, because the flush creeping across his body is sudden. It is embarrassing how quickly and confidently Neil answered, but more embarrassing that he guessed himself first.
Andrew manages a cool, “That’s bold,” which is not a denial.
Neil blinks slowly then says again, “Me?” This time, it’s a question, and Neil’s whole face transforms with it. His mouth falls into an ‘o’ as Andrew watches him process this in real time. “This is you confessing to me?”
“Don’t make this weird,” Andrew says flatly.
Neil sobers up, serious now. “It’s not weird,” he says. “At all.”
But somewhere in there, wires get crossed and a message gets lost.

Summary
Andrew is just trying to keep Kevin alive when an elf jumps into the fray, flashing daggers and blue eyes. He hires the Foxes to help him catch a demon from his past, but it starts to feel less like he's the client and more like he's the protection. Andrew hates how entranced he is by the scarred rogue, with magic on his skin and a tongue as silvered as the city's statues.
It's a good thing Andrew needs something to hold his interest. Neil is doing his best to meet the expectation, whether anyone asked for it or not.

Summary
Leigh was, in all aspects except for his eyes and mouth, a carbon copy of Thea. He also possessed his mother’s boldness, evidenced as he smacked his tiny hands against Andrew’s cheeks, cooing “Dew! Dew!”
It was as close as he’d been able to get to Andrew’s name thus far and so unfathomably cute that Neil felt it like a physical ache deep in his chest.
