“I miss her,” Caitlyn whispers. “She didn’t make my life easy. In fact, she complicated it exponentially. I never made the right decisions for her, was never on the same page. Thinking of her always brought pain.”
Vi nods, her thumb grazing Caitlyn’s cheek.
“You did everything you could to make her happy, and it still wasn’t enough to save her in the end,” she whispers, letting out a sigh as her gaze travels behind Caitlyn, toward the window.

A month has passed since Noxus' invasion. For the last week, Caitlyn has been planning a fundraiser gala to help with the Piltover and Zaun war relief efforts. She has everything under control... until she doesn't. But Vi is there to help, as she always is, and Caitlyn learns that perhaps it's time to finally let some things go.

Summary
Vi moved through the house like a ghost. Restless and unsettled, a flash of dulled colour floating from room to room. A whisper that when Caitlyn turned her head, she would just be in time to catch the wisp of her turning a corner. For someone so broad and capable of explosive violence, she was surprisingly stealthy.
Healing takes many things: time, patience, and… space. Caitlyn’s trying to accommodate she thinks Vi needs to heal after losing Jinx while utterly failing to consider what she needs. Too much space creates its own problems.

Vi doesn’t notice a slain Ambessa. She doesn’t notice the way red flags are still raised like a shield, all adorning the Medarda crest. She only just notices that red-headed officer that clung to Caitlyn like a parasite strewn in a lifeless heap. But she can’t focus on that now. On the implications of it. Because Caitlyn still lies there. Unmoving.
