See, Buck was born as a Blue Serpent. One could tell by the blue snake imprint on his chest and perpetually blue fingernails. And from the beginning of time, the Blue Serpents have been fighting with the Emerald Soldiers. In the old days, even friendship between the two was unthinkable. While the public opinion has softened a bit on this matter, rules were still rules and romance or marriage was still not allowed between the two.
So it was really inconvenient that the sweet and sexy fellow firefighter that is Eddie Diaz is an Emerald Soldier.

Still, it’s hard to sit with these feelings bouncing around inside him - they feel enormous, like he can’t keep them contained. He’s just one teenager, how is he supposed to hold feelings this huge?
