Nothing has been right since Mysterio got into Peter's head and brought forth all of his worst fears and anxieties. The worst part of all was perhaps the solidification of the idea that if it hadn't been for him, his mentor wouldn't have taken that chance all those months ago and almost died when he snapped Thanos army out of existence. And that was something Peter was going to have to live with, especially now that he had to come face to face with the man himself.

“Peter?” Tony manages between huffs and puffs as he tries to catch his breath, his body shaking with adrenaline. The kid looks…well, not okay, but not like he’s on the verge of death, either. Tony wonders if Karen reported something wrong. He and the A.I. are going to have a very long reprogramming session if so, because if she scared him out of his wits for a minor concussion, he’s going to be very upset.
But then Peter’s gaze lands on Tony, and his eyes widen in fear. He skitters backward, pressing himself against the wall of the building behind him and making himself small.
Tony starts forward, confusion wrapping around him. “Pete, what’s—”
Peter’s breath hitches fearfully. “Who—who are you?”
