“Here we go again,” Robin states matter-of-factly, turning her head to glance at the wall they share with their neighbor’s apartment.
A very much non-soundproof wall.
It keeps happening, like clockwork, every Saturday night, sometime between 10pm and midnight. It’s a different voice every time. They only have two things in common: one, they are always guys, and two… they are loud.
“Okay, there’s just no way this guy’s that good,” Steve comments with a wince.(Narrator voice) This guy is, in fact, that good.

“You’re such an asshole,” Steve says, punctuating the words by grabbing one of Eddie’s ankles and starting to tickle him. He’d done it without even thinking about it, which maybe that was weird, but Eddie’s laughing now and squirming, trying to kick his feet out of Steve’s firm grip.
“Fuck you, man! That’s cheating!”
“Yeah, well, I’m gonna have to pick popcorn out of my hair for the rest of the night, so deal with i—”
The last word isn’t even out of his mouth before Eddie reaches over and upturns the entire rest of the bowl onto his head.
“You. Little. Shit.”

Summary
Steve's family never participated in the holidays. It was one of those unspoken truths that everyone in the Harrington household steadfastly ignored. Up until walking in on Eddie reading a Christmas-y story to the kids, Steve was plenty okay with all the missing out he'd done over the years. However, that one small taste opened up a door that Steve wasn't all that prepared to open, yet couldn't force himself to be interested in closing it, either.
