There's a candle on Tommy's desk. A reminder of everything that's happened, a way too never forget the memories he holds dear to him. The flame has never been put out or let get too low.
Because the moment it does, it means he's let everything go, let those memories become faded until they disappear completely.
Maybe one day he'll be able to let it all go, let himself become lost to time as well. Maybe he can finally be satisfied, letting go of the past, step back and let himself become nothing more than a faded memory.

Techno's property was coming into view. It was such a bitter-sweet moment. Tommy could almost see himself laughing at Techno's surprised face when his snowball hit him point blank, and Phil leaning against the doorframe with a warm cup of tea watching them with an amused smile when Techno began to chase him around the yard.

“If you had become president, you would have been standing on that podium when L’manburg blew up. You would have been caught in the cross fire. You would have been following me into death like you were always supposed to do.”
“So what? You were just going to kill me and then have yourself killed? What kind of a coward are you?!” Tommy spat. “There’s something wrong with you, Wil, that you were so willing to take me down with you because you were weak.”

Fingers perfectly matched bruises that had yet to heal, and Tommy involuntarily whimpered at the familiar position. The last time this happened……no he wouldn't think about that.
Just over Dream's shoulder he could see the dark stains of his own blood on the ground that no one had bothered to clean, making him force down the urge to vomit. Dream leaned in close until their noses were almost touching, making Tommy shiver in disgust.
"Listen to me and listen closely. No one will EVER care for you like I have. Everyone will leave you at some point, it's just a matter of finding people who ACTUALLY care for you. I care for you, Tommy. I'm willing to put up with you."

The thing sighed, and smiled, showing an impressive range of teeth, all just a bit too pointy.
“Alright, then I guess it’ll be a quadruple shot of espresso in a to-go cup, please”
