Summary
“Got ambushed and lost the den den. Should be able to find me now.” Bogard grits his teeth as he readjusts his position. He can hear himself slurring. A flare of pain in his skull makes him wince. “‘ave a concussion. Ribs. There s’a cat.”
“A cat?” Garp sounds flummoxed.
A very strange cat that hasn’t left his side since the start of the call. Bogard tunes out Garp’s next words to focus on it. It’s a small thing, looking more like a drowned rat at the moment. Its eyes are closed, frame trembling from the chill of the rain.
Its fur is an unnatural shade of pink.
Bogard’s stomach sinks. “Koby,” he says, cutting off whatever Garp was saying, “he ch’cked in?”
Garp chuffs. “Brat’s with you, isn’t he?”
Goddamn it.
Or: Due to a devil fruit, Koby gets turned into a cat. Shenanigans ensue

“Everyone scattered,” Smoker supplies lowly. His eyes rapidly glance across the exterior of the base, his mouth set in a grim line. He takes a long inhale of his cigar, probably feeling the same dread that's creeping up Bogard's spine. “Fuck.”
OR: a fear gas hits the Loguetown base. In the chaos, Bogard has to find his boys.

«It's not mathematically possible for me to only get such shitty cards, Beck! You must have cheated somehow, admit it, old man!»
The first mate only kept on smiling at his drunk captain before putting yet another winning combination of cards on the table.
«Not my fault if you dragged me here to play strip poker with you when even our little Anchor could play card games better than you» he replied. The redhead pouted and kept glaring at the treacherous cards as if they had personally wronged him.
«I should have you walk the plank for totally disregarding your captain’s fragile feelings» Shanks said, sticking his tongue out at his first mate.
