Summary
Being the captain of one of the most renowned Starships in the galaxy comes with its dangers. Whether it be on missions or just on the ship, there are many instances where Jim has to rely on his crewmen to get him out of trouble. Now add in the fact that he was Captain James T. Kirk (a literal danger magnet), and you get one hell of a Five Year Mission.
Basically, this story shows five times Jim needed saving and the one time he didn't, with a sprinkle of Spirk on top of it all <3

The captain is dying of oxygen deprivation on a barren planet. Unable to save him, Spock mind melds with him for comfort, only to find that Jim’s hypoxic mind is already comforting itself with beautiful fantasies… of Spock as his lover and bondmate.
Will they have the courage to turn Jim’s dream into reality after they are rescued and the captain has recovered?
Hint: Yes, they will… following many pages of angsty introspection, self-doubt, intimate conversations, and mind melding. ;-)

Summary
Exploring how Kirk and Spock's relationship develops through season 1 with a focus on touch telepathy. Kirk disobeys Starfleet's advice about not touching Vulcans, but it actually improves and deepens their relationship. Later, after witnessing Spock meld with the Horta, his curiosity causes Kirk to request his own mind meld. This ultimately triggers unexpected pon farr related consequences, which Kirk then struggles to deal with.

Spock said "Give me your hand," and it was on the table palm up in front of him before Jim had even thought about it. Spock brushed two fingers against his, just for a second, and then leaned back and steepled his hands in front of him in a way Jim recognized as confronting a difficult problem.
"Ah." Spock said, and nothing more.
"Ah what?" Jim prompted impatiently, clenching his outstretched hand into a fist.
"I wished to know whether this curiosity of yours was merely an idle wondering, or if it was something deeper."
"And?" Jim challenged. "What did you feel from me?"
Spock spoke very seriously. "It is *not* an idle wondering. You burn with a desperate hunger to know, and if I do not provide satisfaction, the curiosity will consume you."
