"Nope." Ren glances back up at the moon again. Its familiar cratered face gazes back at him patiently, but all of a sudden he feels like he's seeing it in all its loveliness for the first time. "...Are you looking at it right now?"
"Do you want me to be?" Goro shoots back, the playful dip of his voice sending Ren's stomach swooping. Do you want me to be? God, he's such an asshole.
Ren wishes Goro could hear him roll his eyes over the phone. "It's a yes or no question."
He hears rustling, and then footsteps. "Yes, I'm looking at it, too," Goro says softly.

Summary
Everything that Goro Akechi has ever done was thought out. Meticulous. There was a purpose to everything that he did, and his rise to fame as the "second-generation Detective Prince" was no exception. His relationship to the original might have appeared to have been conjured up by his fans for the sake of relevancy, but the truth was not so simple.
After (unfortunately) resurfacing from the defeat of one Takuto Maruki, Akechi is forced to go through the skeletons hiding in his closet and face them one by one. Perhaps there really was no rest for the wicked.
