Summary
Sequel to How It All Began. If you haven't read it please do otherwise this won't make much sense and you won't love Jeff as much as you should.
Lloyd thought after the defeat of his father, things would be okay. He was making friends now, getting better at his ninja training, and things couldn't be better.
Until it all turns upside down. Now his best friend his missing, they'll need help from someone in jail, who has a history with the kidnappers -- and then his hybrid nature is starting to become a slight problem, but it's okay, he'll handle it, he has other things to worry about right now, like magic -- hang on, magic is REAL? And one of the kidnappers HAS it? Now what?
OR: something something, kidnapping, something something magic, something something Jeff, something something giant monster that only two people can release but one is dead so of course they took the other -- wait huh? this wasn't part of the plan...
OR OR: buckle up, people. like DR, the first book was testing the waters...but this is book two, and we're going all in. get your scuba gear on, because you're gonna need it. oh, and your tissues.

“Aren’t you a little young to be fighting crime?”
The Green Ninja glanced down from the window ledge where he was standing. Without missing a beat, he replied, “I’m not that young.”
The police officer, the one who had asked the question, gave him a raised eyebrow. “How old are you?” He asked.
The officer watched as the boy in the green suit jumped from the ledge to the pole nearby, spinning on it several times before his feet slapped the concrete of the sidewalk. “That’s classified.” Was his response.
OR: Lloyd meets Jeff, a police officer who he bonds with as the Green Ninja, but then suddenly, the same officer and Koko, his mom, become friends. It's up to Lloyd to make sure this officer doesn't find out who he is...
Oh, and there's this whole mess with Garmadon and stuff Lloyd inherited from him, but he'll deal with that later.
...probably.

Locked. Of course. He should’ve known. Lloyd then reached up and curled his fingers against the edge of the small window on the door, grimacing as he used it to pull himself into a standing position. He glared at the bars that covered the window, even though he knew that without them he wouldn’t be able to climb out anyways.
He turned and headed back to the wall, taking two steps and then stumbling midway before crashing against the cool metal. He winced, rubbing his left shoulder once he sat up again. Lloyd groaned, adjusting himself so he was leaning against it, breathing hard.
Where am I?
“Hello?” He called out, wincing at the sound of his voice. “Is anyone there?”
OR: Lloyd and Arin get kidnapped. Things only go downhill from there.

His eyes fixed in absolute horror on the pale hand half shrouded in shadow, splotchy with crimson stains.
In other words: the ninja run across a threat unlike any they've ever faced, leaving one of their own in critical condition.

Summary
Lloyd Garmadon is used to being hated. That's just how his life works—if someone knows that he's the son of the warlord who attacks Ninjago City on a weekly basis, they hate his guts. That's why he's made sure that his team—the only people he's ever been happy with—don't know who he is behind the mask, with the small price attached that he doesn't know their identities, either. It's not like they know each other's, anyways, so it's not a big deal.
But then they find out.
The fact that Lloyd's elemental power makes him an empath doesn't help, either.Basically the premise of the movie pre-reveal with show elements and personalities, and Lloyd's Green Power is him being able to sense and be influenced by the emotions of those around him.
