But he hadn't. He'd been so preoccupied with proving his theory right that he hadn't even realized that her reticence to actually go out into the jungle with him in the first place hadn't been her doubting him, but her hinting that she wasn't feeling well.

She didn’t immediately move but eventually, the muzzle dropped away from Bucky. He turned and faced her. His eyes dropped immediately to the dark, wet spot that covered her abdomen.
“Sam, she’s hurt.” Bucky moved forward. She stepped back. “We won’t hurt you. Hey, easy okay? We can help you.”
It hasn’t been an easy adjustment but Bucky is finally starting to feel at home at the Avengers compound, especially with Sam around. But just as he’s starting to feel settled, Yelena shows up unexpectedly and brings with her a new threat that they’ll need to face. Bucky will need to confront his past to protect the ones he loves.
