Summary
Ash requires all the best fighters in Lynx Gang for a turf war, so someone else besides Kong and Bones are assigned to watch Eiji for the day. However, not everyone in the gang is as enamoured with the little foreigner as Ash clearly is, and his temporary caretakers don't exactly hide their displeasure at being given babysitting duties.
Eiji, frustrated by this, sets out to prove his worth and show everyone that he's not as useless as they (and even he at times) think.

Summary
Part character analysis, part mystic storytelling!
The mysterious Madame Tsubaki is a travelling fortune teller, who appears spontaneously at festivals and fetes around the world, and vanishes almost as suddenly leaving no trace. She manifests as a middle-aged Asian lady in a purple kimono, a wisteria hair stick in her neatly styled hair, unusual blue eyes holding more knowledge and wisdom than they have any right to, and a string of pearls round her neck. Her speciality is giving 'soulmate readings' using a combination of tarot cards, charm pulls, and pendulum questions, to help people uncover the personality traits and likely background of their perfect partner. Her readings are always remarkably accurate.
Madame Tsubaki speaks multiple languages fluently. She pops up multiple times through history, often in different counties or even dimensions. Her usual fee is ¥500 or the closest equivalent in a money multiple of 5. She may or may not be wholly human, and while most people walk away from her feeling disconcerted and unnerved, they usually forget crossing paths with her soon after.

Summary
So Ash Lynx died. Everyone knew that.
And Aslan Callenreese left his incredibly generous inheritance to his friends. And everyone is sad and everything hurts.
But things aren't as they seem. Not quite. Because names are not people. And Ash has decided that with Eiji finally safe in Japan, it is time for him to be done, to be free. Or at least to avoid going to prison for a very very long time. So when he's given the opportunity to 'use his powers for good' by joining witness protection and becoming a member of the FBI task force created specifically to help abused and trafficked children, kids like Ash... well he doesn't really have a choice, now does he?
And thus is Agent Rick Henry born. It's not an easy transition to being on this side of the law. But he's finally got the power to really stick it to these assholes. If only he knew how to say goodbye.
For those of you that have been following Postcards, this is the sister fic, I've been mentioning.
For those of you starting here... There might be a few moments of confusion, but this should be able to be read as a stand alone. (I'd recommend reading Postcards first and coming back, but I'm not the boss of you!)
