Roy loves Rikki. He loved her when they were just two stupid kids pulling pranks at galas and he loves her still, even if in a different way.
Roy loves Dixie. He loved her when they were teens, her legs wrapped around him, her laugh always ringing in his ears, and he still loves her, even after all that happened between them.Donna loves Robbie, her twin wonder, her sister, her reflection in the mirror.
Donna loves Rikki, who decided to live in the world of men and died for it.
Donna loves Dixie, and now, now that her twin is nothing but earth again, she is more similar to her than ever before.Garth loves Robbie, who is like the ocean, and so, when he needs to see her again, he goes to the sea, his first home, the only thing that ever lets him forget that she is gone.
Wally loves Robbie. He loves Rikki Wayne. He loves Dixie. And yet love is a too little word to describe the universes he sees behind her smiles. Dixie is his everything, so yes, maybe that's why he doesn't care much about life, now that she is gone.

Summary
The Justice League loves Batman's daughter, even if they don't know anything about her at all (it's a lie, they know what little Hal gathered in a hop gone wrong, but surely the Dark Knight's offspring isn't a cheerleader and Hal must have misunderstood something).
The Justice League loves (at least, the majority of them do) Nightwing, formerly known as Robin, the perfect foil they used to raise a next generation of heroes.
(Some of) the members of the Justice League also love Rikki Wayne, the only daughter of infamously well known billionaire Bruce Wayne (some of them hate her too, but it's difficult to explain the tangle of emotions the socialite elicits).

Summary
The little Miss is Thomas, and she is Martha and she is Bruce (she is also him, but that isn't all that important) the three people Alfred loved the most wrapped into one, so deeply intertwined that it's almost impossible to see where she ends and they begin. The little Miss is a wonderful, wonderful human being and he is proud of calling her his granddaughter, just like he is proud of being called her grandad.
Talia's daughter is...she is a remarkable being. And Ra hates her for it. He hates her for the way she always seems to meet (and often exceed) his expectations. He hates her, because, after a while, it becomes clear she is everything he always wanted from his progeny, from his future heir. But Talia's daughter is just that, a daughter, a girl, a woman, and Ra won't debase his own legacy leaving it all to a woman. Or maybe he will, if Damian will reveal himself as unfitting for the role. But he has to wait, wait for his grandson to grow, and the waiting is challenging even for a patient being like him.

Or Dixie Wayne is the biological daughter of Bruce Wayne (which shouldn't change anything at all, and yet it does).

Things aren't easier because not everyone gets a soulmate mark.
Things aren't easier because if someone's soulmate dies before their seventeenth birthday the surviving part will never know that there was someone meanth for them.
Things aren't easier because the sight of a blood-red mark means death, and the despair of having lost half of one's soul is almost impossible to overcome.

Dick Grayson belonged to the Court of Owls, and as an object in their possession he would be offered up to the vengeful gods as a gift. A sacrifice. Dick would die to satisfy the bloodthirst of some entity that called itself the Bat.
The Court said the Bat protected Gotham. The Court said dying for the Bat would be an honor. The Court said Dick should be grateful for the opportunity he had been given.
Dick was having none of it - he wanted to live.
