    Summary

It was the end of the world. Teyvat was burning. He'd watched everyone he'd ever known, ever loved, die. His own brother had died in his arms. The last thing he remembered was Venti's face, tears streaming through the ash, and a whisper, "Save them". But he'd woken up again, in his childhood bedroom, with the memories of before. Diluc had a second chance to save the world, to save everyone, and he couldn't squander it.

    Summary

“You're rather energetic,” the third Fatui agent speaks up at last. “For a half-dead kid.”

“Not a kid,” he dances backwards out of range of the man’s knives. His ribs protest the movement, but his gut thanks him for it, seeing as his insides aren’t currently being spilled over the snow. He ignores the half-dead comment, knowing already that the dried blood covering half of his face must be a sight.

    “Sure look like one.”

    -

Or: After the fight Kaeya runs, and finds himself in the company of a Fatui Harbinger. When a deal is proposed, he accepts.

[HIATUS - recent genshin updates and all that entails have not been something that I've enjoyed, and its dulled my experience of the game a little. Enough that the excitement I once had for updating this fic has slowly faded alongside it. I will probably return to this one day, but I am unsure of when exactly that might be, so. Don't hold your breath.]

    Summary

    “So it’s time travel?”

“No, not quite,” Albedo gently chews on his lower lip in contemplation on how to simplify the concept. “The Ley Lines hold memories of everything that has ever happened in the world. It appears that this Ley Line disorder has converged the past memories with our current memories.”

Kaeya cocks his head to the side, “So we’re currently in the past?”

“I suppose you could put it like that, but it’s more like our past and our present have collided.”

    “So, time travel?”

Albedo sighs, “Sure, let’s call it that.”

A growing string of disappearing people, a catastrophic Ley Line disorder, a chaotic space and a convoluted Fatui plot throws much of Mondstadt into a not-so-distant past, surrounded by uncomfortably familiar faces.

Unfortunately for Kaeya, this means forgoing a much-needed vacation to try and figure out what exactly is going on. That, and grappling with the presence of a boy who looks and sounds like Diluc, but is someone far different than the man that Diluc has become.

Gods, he could really go for a drink right about now.
