Hazel sits up then, settling her weight over PJ’s hips as she reaches to fish something out of her back pocket. PJ watches as Hazel pulls the newest in phone technology out in front of her and is once again reminded that Hazel needs things spelled the fuck out.

'Out of sight, out of mind' applies to several things for Hazel Callahan, and having both physical and visual reminders of her favorite moments helps her to remember them more clearly.

“Hazel! What are you gonna be for Halloween?”
This catches Hazel’s attention, abandoning whatever her previous line of thought was to turn and look at Josie with a smile. “Oh, I’m going as Ghostface!”
“The psycho killer?” PJ asks. At Hazel’s nod, she can’t help but laugh. It was such a basic ass costume from a movie no one even cares about anymore. She thinks back to when she and Josie watched it at a sleepover, back to the scene at the party where Tatum is in the garage. “Can I be the helpless victim?”
She’s quoting the scene, and she makes it obvious with the cadence of her voice. Something PJ conveniently forgets, however, is that nothing is obvious to Hazel.
