“Are you ok?” He asked, his own voice barely heard over the ringing in his ears.
“I–” Her voice broke, shaking so bad she couldn’t understand herself. “I’m fine.”
Steve let himself pull away, slowly letting Nancy go so that he had just a light grip, one arm around her waist, keeping her steady. He flinched when her hand went up to his face, stared down blankly at her wide, shaking eyes, at the blood that dripped along her fingertips after she brushed them just above his lip.
“I’m ok.” He said, even though he knew she wouldn’t believe it.

Apparently, when given the ability to feel comfortable about it, Steve was clingy as fuck. He was all wandering hands and his cheek on Eddie’s shoulder and hips pressed into hips and lingering looks and those horrible jock hugs with the slap on the back at the end and, and - Eddie felt like dying.
“I feel like I’m dying, Robin,” Eddie whines; rubbing his hands down his face.
“You’re so dramatic,” Robin says with an eye roll so powerful he’s surprised she doesn’t fall over by sheer force.

Summary
Finally, when they’ve been quiet for a while and the twilight has taken over the sunroom enough that its corners are little nests of pure darkness, Cheng Xiaoshi asks, “What’s on your mind?”
Lu Guang inhales, but doesn’t answer for a while. His fingers twitch a little, as if he means to pull them away at the question, but when Cheng Xiaoshi gives his hand another squeeze, he resettles.
“I’m happy you’re alive, Cheng Xiaoshi,” Lu Guang finally says, in that voice that Cheng Xiaoshi has only heard a few times and only when it’s just them two.
or, some things are easier said in the dark.
