Truth be told, she didn’t know what she expected.
Experiences create memories which create identities, as far as she was concerned. Giving up your memories might as well be committing suicide-- the empty husk you leave behind won’t be you anymore regardless. Surely he realized the gravity of that, right? She couldn’t wrap her head around it-- and she tried, she really did!-- but alas, such rash behavior might just be part of human nature she’ll never comprehend. If this guy was unhinged enough to seek out the supernatural, a death God, crossing that border between life and death just to doom his unsuspecting future self to kill criminals without consequence, maybe there really was no method to his madness. Maybe he was just that crazy.
Maybe there was nothing to understand. Nothing at all.
(Or: Shinigami thinks about Number One, about Yuma and about what lies ahead of her now that they're officially partners. She thinks about a lot of things. So, so many things.)
