Summary
After a disastrous banquet threatening to ruin a very important political mission, Obi-Wan blows up on 15-year-old Anakin. Harsh words are traded, and trust is broken...but Obi-Wan doesn't realise what he's down until it's too late.
Equal parts hurt and frustrated with his Master, Anakin realises he can't cope with constantly being a disappointment to Obi-Wan or his loneliness at the Temple. So, he makes the drastic decision to leave the Order. He never wanted to be their Chosen One, anyway. He runs away to Naboo, reconnecting with Padme, meets a lot of "interesting" people and accidentally becomes the leader of a slave rebellion.
Meanwhile, Obi-Wan continues with the life of a Jedi while contending with the guilt of failing Anakin. He tries to find his missing Padawan, but Anakin doesn't want to be found, and he has to accept it. He just wishes he could apologise.
When Tatooine gains independence at the time same time the Clone Wars start, the two are thrown together again. But Anakin and Obi-Wan are very different men, but maybe that's a good thing. Maybe in this universe, the Team have a chance.

Summary
When Depur sends Vader back to Tatooine for the third time, Anakin visits his mother. He cannot go to her grave, but the place she died is a ruin. Surely, he can go there and talk to her. Before, there was nothing left for him to lose, but now there is Leia, just the right age to be his child, and the world he broke before she could see it.
Anakin speaks his regrets to the desert, until the wind whispers back.
He awakens, 18 years in the past, in the moment before his first step into darkness.
Is this a piece of Ar-Amu's promise? The will of the Force? Yes, of course. But whichever you believe in, know that the trickery of Ekkreth will surely play its part.
