Aragaki took a bullet for him. Aragaki risked his life for Ken, the son of the woman he killed because of Castor. If anyone had told him months ago that Aragaki would come to be one of his favorite senpais despite being his mother’s killer, Ken definitely wouldn’t have believed it. He still doesn’t, sometimes. It’s hard to reconcile the Aragaki who fed Koromaru like a king and watched the fireworks with him to the Aragaki that was responsible for his mother’s death.
Ken should hate him. He did hate him, but now… Now all he feels is guilt.
After the October full moon, Ken visits Shinjiro in the hospital.

Summary
Tenmyouji’s birthdays growing up had been so much different, with not having to worry about scavenging for resources and having to navigate through a post-apocalyptic society. He’d never asked for much, but there was always a sense of comfort in knowing that he didn’t have to put in an effort toward making his birthdays special. Quark themself had been worried if it was okay for them to celebrate like this despite how tight money is, that they could go out scavenging or instead they could save the money for something more important, but Tenmyouji reassured them otherwise—Quark’s smile was always worth it to him.

She looks at Tenmyouji, and his graying hair, and his shitty wrinkled shirt, and the eight-year-old sitting next to him digging a small hole in the dirt with his fingers, and tries to decide whether or not he’s the same person she knew before today.
“Clover,” he says, “Come on over. You look like shit.”

He’s getting sidetracked. It’s just for a day, right? Or at least until the transporter’s fixed and everyone can decide what to do with Quark? Yeah, okay, he’s got this.
“Sure,” Junpei answers. “I’ll take him.”
Quark arrives in the transporter on a random day. Junpei thinks about what that means for him and how he wants to bond with Quark.
