His best friend looks knowing and tired but he smiles, Sirius does, just this tiny little quirk of his lips at James’ gratitude. They are the same when it comes to this— they want what they love held close.

Summary
James knew his best friend. He knew his best friend more than anyone else could know another person. From the first moment they met they were in sync in almost every way. Nearly every sentence that included James also included Sirius. Sirius’s wand felt just as natural in his hand as James’s own.
