Which is why it’s entirely his fault that Starscream immediately falls into the clutches of a twisted Prime. It’s rather typical of Starscream’s luck that said Prime has an obsession with him specifically, and seems to have decided he’s a second chance… of some kind.

Getting dumped at the bottom of Iacon would have been preferable to D-16 and Orion Pax. Instead, Darkwing sells them off to the gladiator Overlord Tarn. D-16 is twisted into a gladiator for Tarn's amusement while Orion is stripped of everything.

A threat looms heavily in the warmech’s tone and actions alike - Starscream would be a fool to mistake his Master’s words for bluff.
