Summary
The Captain - Edward ‘Ted’ Williamson - knows he’s not an easy person to love. A tragedy leads to a bittersweet opportunity for a fresh start in a sleepy village, in a cottage with a yellow door and honeysuckle growing up the walls. There’s a disarming amount of room to breathe, and the chance to reluctantly be befriended by the eccentric locals.

A bit on the nose, that, presenting him with the story of the man taking himself back to his childhood home, looking to recapture the golden years. You can’t ever go home again. That’s what Orwell was trying to say with that one. Well, Alfred had come home. And he was going to have to make it work.
Captain Alfred Broadhurst (PhD) has a new life in his old town; new flat, new job with new students, and a new book to write too. Patrick Butcher, university librarian, part-time novelist and doting dad, is struggling with his new book and feeling a bit melancholy in a way he can't quite put his finger on.
It isn't going to take much to end up in each other's orbits.
