In all the years he'd lived in New York, he'd only ever kissed one person. It wasn't even a kiss, it was more like a bite. He could still feel the sting of it, sometimes, as well as the metallic aftertaste if he really concentrated on the memory. Mostly he recalls the physical weight of the hand around his throat, undoubtedly masculine and larger than his own, a thumb pressing up against his Adam's apple. He remembers the feeling of nails digging into the nape of his neck. A hot breath in his ear.
