Summary
During the day, Husk is really good at suppressing the memories from his life. Usually, he doesn't think about it and when he does, he just drinks them away.
But at night, once he falls asleep, he isn't able to keep those walls up. The memories flood back, feeling just as real and horrifying as the first time. Before Angel, Husk would wake up every night in a cold sweat, blood staining his shredded-up sheets. He would sit with his knees tucked to his chest and his wings wrapped around him, shaking and crying, pouring as much liquor down his throat as he could manage for hours until he was too drunk and numb to feel, or even think.
But now, when he had nightmares of the war (most of which were too painful to even verbalize), he awoke to soft hands caressing his fur, four gentle yet comfortingly strong arms wrapping around him, and a voice of sugar and honey shushing his racing mind. Husk wondered how he ever got a wink of sleep beforehand.

------------------------------“Te amo tanto, cariño.” Vaggie whispered, running her hand down to rest on the plush skin of Charlie's arm.
The demon giggled, half asleep, and lifted her own hand to intertwine her fingers with Vaggie’s. She brought their connected hands towards her lips and kissed the angels knuckles softly, causing the other to smile at the sensation.
“I love you too Vaggie.”

After Angel storms out and Husk goes to chase after him, Charlie is too worried to sleep, instead choosing to stay up and wait for them to return. After the two demons finally get back and Charlie makes her amends, the princess is exhausted. Luckily, her girlfriend is there to take care of her. Domestic shit and sleepy cuddles ensue :)
