When his daughter had introduced him to the boy name Shinichi Kudo he wasn't sure of how he felt about him, but he definitely didn't like him. A 14 year old mystery geek who went around solving murders for the police department. How and why the adults always allow him to go to crime scenes is beyond him. The boy was strange. His actions, his family, his hobbies. Nothing about him screamed normal. Perhaps thats why he didn't like Ran hanging around him at first.

“I do wish Furuya-kun used a poison with an easy antidote. Arsenic, perhaps. I can’t drink cyanide.”
Conan stares. “But you’d drink arsenic?”
“It is tea that Furuya-kun brewed for me,” Shuuichi points out reasonably. “It’s quite unfortunate to pour it down the drain. But I suppose I have to.”
“Because it’s not arsenic,” Conan says, voice a little blank.
“Because it’s not arsenic,” Shuuichi says with a nod.
Furuya has attempted to murder Shuuichi quite a few times. That may be part of the reason why Shuuichi doesn’t quite care.
