Summary
If three's a crowd, what is six? All of Cassie's people help her get ready for her first day of school.
Jack continued, brushing out her ends until Carter wiggled her finger indicating that he should move up.
“Thanks,” he told her. Slowly, and maybe a little too methodically, Jack finished brushing the tangles from Cassie’s hair. “This how you do yours, Carter?” Jack asked eyeballing her short blonde locks with a side-long glance and a grin.
“I wasn’t always in the Air Force, you know?” she answered, tucking her bangs behind her ears.
“No? I was,” he teased. But all he was really thinking about was a little Sam Carter with long, blonde hair.

Sam and Jack seem to have it all. Finally.
This goes out to all of my Stargate extended Family. I have had a hard time writing this year. Not sure why. But why not make Ship Day 2023 a return for me?
And a huge thank you to my Space Mom for always being in my corner no matter what I am going through. Thank you to Jennifer for being my Disney buddy even when plans have to get cancelled. And my forever thanks to the Sci Fi franchise that captured my heart and imagination for over a decade.

A/N
I am only now beginning to deal with things I encountered while on active duty. Each one of us has hidden trauma, and only the person walking through it can find their way.Mental Health issues of all sorts are around us every day in every person we encounter. We each are fighting a hidden battle that no one else can see. It is OK to talk about it. And honestly, fuck the rest who don't believe you or who tell you "it's all in your head." They don't deserve free rent in your head.
The truth of your trauma is yours. I believe you.
Big thank you to my Space Mom, GWhite. Your support and your shoulder mean more than you will ever know.
