Basically the long and short of it is: Ed and Stede retire, Jackie and the Swede restart their bar, Zheng and Auntie go to rebuild their empire, the crew elects Izzy as captain, and everyone is in love with each other <3

Summary
It’s not often that Jim gets injured on raids. When they do, it’s usually nothing more than a scrape or a bruise, sometimes a sprain or a gash. This time, however, is a rare instance in which Jim has gotten themself stabbed.

Summary
The morning starts like the one before it: Jim wakes up to find they’ve drooled on Oluwande’s chest in their sleep, and then they sit there listening to his breathing until they have to crawl over him and get ready for the day.
The memory of the day before only hits them when they go to put on their chest bindings and realize that they left them in the hold, which means that Izzy must have brought them to their room when they were asleep.

This fic is a sequel to my other fic, Second Child, Restless Child! I highly recommend reading it first as it will provide a lot of context for this one. The TL;DR is that Jim and Izzy have been in love for ages, and the day before this fic takes place, they figure it out and fuck about it. This fic is about them figuring out their relationship a little more.

Jim’s not entirely sure how this… thing with Izzy even started.
This “thing” being what they would tentatively call a… friendship. They know that, obviously, it started at some point during the “Kraken Era”, but they can’t pinpoint when exactly they went from trying to kill each other to… whatever it is they have now. Sharpening their weapons together in silence and talking shit about the captains and crew behind their backs.
